I’m Elysia Hegarty, a Dublin-based artist, creating vibrant, acrylic paintings on canvas. My style is bold, textured and unapologetically messy working almost entirely with palette knives, impasto layers, and colours that surprise.

I’ve been painting, crafting, and creating my whole life, often giving handmade pieces to friends and family. It’s always been how I connect and share a part of myself. This website is the first time I’m sharing my art publicly and in many ways, it feels like the start of a much bigger journey.

My inspiration comes from my own memories, both the extraordinary and the everyday - woven together with mythology, symbolism and a short original poem. Together, these form a visual memoir told through my collections, which I call Chapters. Because each Chapter is a glimpse into a moment, a place or a feeling that has shaped me.

I’m a part-time artist, balancing a full-time job and family life. Painting is my pause, the thing that keeps me grounded in between the busyness, messiness and loveiness of daily life.
